Make a happy hour every Friday :) There are big probably lots of geek people working at your office so some (more) office gadgets would be nice. And more salaries ofc :) Give them bigger LCD displays (or Apple things).

in my opinion the most important think is communication. If i was one of these "good people"'s, i would prefer having a good working atmosphere rather than money.

Take an interest in your employee's interest (and life)
Reward performance (it does not always have to be monetary --> power of positive encouragement and acknowledgement)
Inspire them to perform their best! (it is hard to leave an inspiring manager, even when offered higher money)

You must often walk with them, communicate. The main reason to give less quarrels and insults)
